Tattoo Removal
Using the latest laser technology, we are able to remove most tattoo pigments. Effectively two different laser modalities are used to eliminate both blue or black pigments, and red or orange pigments. The laser effectively destroys the cell containing the pigment, and the body does the rest by transporting the released pigment away from the site, and ultimately the pigment is eliminated from the body.
The duration of the course of the treatment will vary, and this is dependant upon the qualities of the tattoo itself. Superficial, amateur tattos may be completely eliminated in 1-2 sessions, whereas more complex and deeper creations could take 8-12 sessions to eliminate. Generally, the better crafted and more colourful the tattoo, the longer it will take to remove.
There is some discomfort associated with the treatment, though it is quicker and possibly no more uncomfortable than the process of creating the tattoo! Complete eradication is possible, but usually upon very close insepction faint outlines of the tattoo will persist. Green pigments are notoriously difficult to treat with any laser, and acrylic inks may not respond at all.
At your consulation (which is free) your therapist will discuss in detail the process, the likely duration of the course of treatments, and the cost per session. Aftercare considerations will be covered – it is possible you will experience some pin point bleeding and/or blistering after a treatment session – this is normal – and you will be advised how to care for the skin if this should happen.
